Sony CEO resigns |
Sony announced today that its current chief executive, Kaz Hirai, will step down from April 1 and get a consultant position.
Kaz Hirai replacement will be the current CFO of Sony Kenichiro Yoshida, who has been a key part of the Japanese company's board since his appointment in this position in 2014.
Hirai said in an emotional speech during which he reviewed his career in the administration that it is time to pass the helm to someone else. This is better for the future of Sony and for my future where I need to focus on my own life.
While the new chief executive said he would go ahead with the foundation built by Hirai and take more reform measures to ensure long-term growth.
