Apple dominated tech headlines yesterday after it unveiled a new tablet lineup, including the newly named 9.7-inch iPad Air, as well as an iPad mini with Retina display.
The new iPad Air is 20 percent thinner than the previous iPad, from 9.4mm to 7.5mm. The bezel is also 43 percent thinner than the previous version, "making it more comfortable to hold," Apple's Phil Schiller said. PCMag was in San Francisco for the event, and got some hands-on time with the iPad Air and iPad Mini With Retina Display.
Meanwhile, Apple also boosted its MacBook Pro lineup with Intel's 4th-gen Haswell processors, as well as longer battery life, faster flash storage, and next-generation Wi-Fi. For more, check out What's New on the Apple MacBook Pro.

Meanwhile in non-Apple news, Facebook stirred up controversy with a recent decision to reverse its ban on videos that show beheadings. Following the outrage, however, Facebook (again) reversed course and removed one particular beheading video out of Mexico.
Prior to the Apple madness, meanwhile, Nokia held a press event in Abu Dhabi, where it unveiled two new phablets and a Windows RT tablet, and announced that popular apps like Instagram and Vine are coming to Windows Phone. For more, check out our Hands On With the Nokia 1520, 1320, and 2520.
