It's thought the new illuminated Apple could be used to let users know when they've got a new message, update from social media - or even to let them know it's going to rain.
The pictures, released by website USwitch Tech, show a recess around the logo on the back of the phone, with what appears to be a hole covered in plastic thin enough to let light shine through.
Apple is set to overhaul the iPhone's notification system in the forthcoming iOS 8 update, due for release in the Autumn.
The new software will allow users to quickly reply to messages without having to leave the app they're in, and will bring more features to the Notification Centre window - but there's been no official word on a light-up logo.
