Flipkart in partnership with Motorola to launch Moto G smartphones - Business Standard

Flipkart Internet, country's largest e-commerce market place, in partnership with Motorola Mobility today launched Moto G smartphones in India that will offer a premium smartphone experience for one-third of the price of the current high-end phones.

Priced at Rs 12,499 for Moto G of 8 GB size and at Rs 13,999 for 16 GB size, the device will be available to Indian consumers through Flipkart.com platform from Feb 6, the e-commerce company said in a release today.

"For the first time a global brand has tied up with an exclusive online partner in India. The power of Motorola and Flipkart now brings this exceptional phone at an exceptional price to our customers, " the release quoted founder and chief executive officer Sachin Bansal as saying.

The device is well equipped with a 4.5-inch high density display and a qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor featuring a quad-core CPU for seamless multitasking and enjoying the web, videos and games, with all-day battery life.

Iit will have Android 4.3 Jellybean, the most up to date Android of any phone in its class, with a guaranteed upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat just weeks after launch, said Flipkart.

Stylish design with a comfortable curved back and interchangeable coloured back covers along with dual SIM support to give the user the option to choose network are some of the other features available in this device.

The phone is also protected with the latest Corning Gorilla Glass and water-repellent nano-coating inside and out.

"We think everybody deserves to experience mobile Internet at its best, and price shouldn't stand in the way of anyone owning a technologically advanced smartphone, the release quoted Magnus Ahlqvist, general manager of EMEA and Asia Pacific, Motorola Mobility as saying.
