The Winter Olympic Games in South Korea were subjected to violent electronic attacks during the opening ceremony, according to confirmation from some of the organizers of the tournament, which was quoted by Reuters.
All systems, including smart TVs, were hacked at the opening ceremony when athletes were walking in the official procession, but officials managed to contain the hack and restore systems very quickly.
The organizers confirmed that they were aware of the penetration, and of those behind it, but that information will remain confidential at the moment.
The blame was immediately on Russia as its athletes were banned from the Winter Olympic Games because of their failure to pass doping tests, as the attacks were a means of reprisals and retaliation from the Olympic Games.
