Sony Xperia XZ Pro: we expect the Snapdragon 845, but especially a 4K OLED screen

Sony is still subject to a few leaks of information to several weeks of Mobile World Congress 2018. These last concern the Sony Xperia XZ Pro.

The Mobile World Congess at the end of February will be rich. Why ? Already, because it marks the big comeback of Samsung who will announce his Galaxy S9. But also because it is the event of the year for smartphones, no doubt.

Sony should take advantage, as usual, to unveil many smartphones, including the expected Sony Xperia XZ Pro. This last, according to rumors, should ship the chip Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and a 4K OLED screen.

 For the Qualcomm chip, it was announced last December. Regarding the display, Sony has already unveiled several 4K screens in the past (the Z5 Premium and XZ Premium), and the adoption of OLED technology is already being considered. The definition 4K remains a wobbly feature on a smartphone screen its interest is limited, moreover Sony only activates it in certain cases.

For the OLED, it is a display technology expected, it is found today at everyone, from Huawei to Samsung, through OnePlus, Apple and LG. Further details on the features have been released, the screen will be 5.7 inches diagonal, while one should also find a battery with a capacity of 3320 mAh and a dual camera module at the back of 18 megapixels (1.33 μm photosites) and 12 megapixels (1.38 μm). Moreover, no details on the optics used by these cameras.

This information allows us to hope for a very high-end smartphone at Sony, which continues to offer an intense schedule with renewals of ranges every semester.
