Huawei unveils its new fast charging: 50% battery in 5 minutes!

Huawei unveils its new fast charging

Huawei is unveiling a new fast charging technology that is 10 times faster than existing solutions. This technology can charge a 48% smartphone battery in just 5 minutes. A revolutionary solution, which could well be introduced with the future Huawei P20 expected for the MWC of February 2018.

In 2018, autonomy remains one of the main problems of smartphones. The battery capacity now reaches 4000 mAh, fast charging technologies allow (as the name suggests) to recharge faster, but it is still necessary to count more than one hour to charge his smartphone at least once per day. The only alternative is to purchase an external battery. However, things could very soon change thanks to Huawei.

Huawei introduces fast charging technology for smartphones 10 times faster

On its YouTube channel, the Huawei Watt Lab unveils a new charging technology that is ten times faster than the solutions proposed today. In concrete terms, this technology enables a 48% smartphone to be charged in just 5 minutes. No, you're not dreaming. The Chinese giant could well revolutionize the smartphone industry very soon. However, the video reveals that this fast charging does not work conventionally.

It is first noted that the battery in question has many connectors. The idea would be to divide the battery to charge each part separately, which would save time. In addition, the battery does not charge directly into the phone. It must be extracted and inserted into an external device. This fast charging technology would therefore only be compatible with smartphones equipped with specific removable batteries. It is possible that one of the first compatible smartphones is the flagship Huawei P20 whose presentation is expected for the MWC 2018 to be held in February in Barcelona.
