Google Play will soon sell audiobooks

Google Play will soon sell audiobooks

Google wants to compete with Amazon again with its popular Audible service, where it plans to start selling audiobooks through the Google Play Store with competitive discounts.

Google 9to5 website spread  , which is interested in following Google News and its products, has posted an announcement to the company to start selling audiobooks through the Google Play Store with a 50% discount on the price of the first book purchased.

Google has dedicated a full section of its audiobooks store to the currently unavailable. Evidence has been found in the analysis of the application of Google Play Store since last November referring to audiobooks, and even found evidence in the application section of e-books in Google Play related to audio versions of them.

It seems that Google wants to distinguish its service not only in terms of price and deployment, but is likely to provide the possibility of moving to a particular chapter by pronouncing its name only, which is not provided by Audible from Amazon, but only need to utter the chapter number.

Of course, Google will not launch its service before it is integrated with at least minimum benefits such as synchronizing the reading between several devices and supporting the Google Play segment to run the reading on TVs.

Revenue from audiobooks is reported to have risen sharply last year, with several Western companies emerging in this area but can not keep up with Audible owned by Amazon.
