OnePlus 2 could be announced in July, may start at $322

So far OnePlus has only committed to releasing its next smartphone sometime during the third quarter of this year - so from July to September.

Now though a new rumor from China wants to give us a more concise time frame, at least for the phone's announcement. So the OnePlus 2 is said to be made official at some point in July.

This apparently comes from a source that's been reliable in the past, for what it's worth. Perhaps more interesting is that the new OnePlus device is also rumored to start at CNY 1,999 in China, which currently translates into $322 or €285.

If this turns out to be true, we expect the handset to be offered internationally starting at $349 and €349, respectively. That's going to be $100 and €100 more than what the OnePlus One is being sold for now, and $50 over its launch price. However, these levels are still incredibly affordable considering the specs of the OnePlus 2.

The phone should reportedly come with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a 13 MP rear camera, and a 1080p touchscreen. Other details haven't been conclusively leaked yet, but the OnePlus 2 is going to run the in-house developed Oxygen OS based on Android 5.1.
