Huawei Honor 7, Oppo A51 leaked by TENAA

Parallel to Oppo's headline R7 and R7 Plus models launched a couple of weeks ago, the company had been working on a lower-end device in the face of the Oppo A51. The new midranger is nearing its launch, as evidenced by a certification from TENAA, the Chinese telecommunications governing authority.

Oppo A51

The Oppo A51 comes with a 5-inch 720p screen, which uses an IPS panel. Computing power comes courtesy of a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, and although the listing doesn't specify the SoC model, it's more than likely the 64-bit Snapdragon 410. 2GB of RAM are on board, as well as 16GB of built-in storage, which can be expanded by up to 128GB wia microSD.

A modest by today's standards 8MP primary camera reveals the smartphone's budget focus, but the selfie-loving crowd will appreciate the 5MP front snapper. The device measures 143.4 × 71.2 × 7.65 (mm), but is quite hefty at 160g.

The A51 boots Android 5.0.2 out of the box, which may come as a surprise, given that even the higher-end R7 launched on KitKat 4.4. Price is expected to be around the CNY1,299 (~$210), when the phone hits the stores, but the time frame for its release is yet unknown.

Meanwhile, the oft-leaked Huawei Honor 7 also made the rounds at TENAA, ahead of its June 8 launch. The photos confirm the fingerprint scanner on the back which matches previously seen live images.

So far no detailed specs have been listed though, but according to the older intel the 5-inch FullHD Honor 7 will come in two flavors. Both will be powered by an in-house Kirin 935 chipset, but the lower-specced version will feature 3GB of RAM 16GB of storage, whereas the other one will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal memory.
