The UEFA Champions League final was this Saturday and HTC send out hearty congratulations to Barcelona fans. HTC sponsors the league, you see, and live tweeted the final, while also taking the time to promote its HTC One M9.
It even introduced a 24ct gold limited edition of the M9 to celebrate the final. As part of the promo a HTC tweeted a vine, asking you to guess the number of footballs and earn a chance to win both the gold One M9 and tickets for the final. Inscribed on the back of the phone is the date and seat number to make the memory last.

Still, in time honored Twitter advertising tradition the PR team responsible for the Twitter account messed up. The initial image of the 24ct One M9 was taken with an iPhone. That image has since been taken down, but here's a close-up you can just see the Apple logo.

It's not like someone was going to use HTC One M9's camera to take a serious photo... okay, that was a low blow, but seriously, how do you do professional PR and not even have a DSLR lying around? Anyway, we've seen our fair share of iPhone-based Twitter marketing mishaps *cough* BlackBerry *cough*.
HTC is yet to announce who's the lucky winner of the gilded One M9.
