Huawei is expected to start rolling out the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for its existing family of Android devices. And it might happen very soon as a video of Ascend Mate7 running the Emotion 3.1 UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop surfaced, making a promise of some interesting features to come.
The video shows a the split screen multitasking mode with two different applications running at the same time. It's similar to what LG and Samsung smartphones have been offering for a while now.
We also saw a handy option to minimize the display and other features facilitaing single-handed operation.
We reported earlier that the Ascend Mate7 would be the first one to get the Android update in May but it seems the update was delayed. Perhaps the reason behind this is that the Mate7 will skip Android 5.0 and move directly to Android 5.1 from its current 4.4 KitKat.
