The Meizu MX5 is going to get official at a special event on June 30, according to some rumors from last week. It will get a metal construction, unlike all of its predecessors, and it's also going to come with a fingerprint sensor embedded in its Home button.
Then again, perhaps the most anticipated detail about this smartphone is what it will look like, since so far we haven't seen it in any leaks. Well, today a couple of renders have surfaced in China claiming to accurately portray Meizu's next flagship offering.
As you can see from these images (click on the thumbnails for the full-size versions), the MX5 will be yet another handset to employ some kind of 'bezelless' tech for its screen. The display panel has virtually no lateral bezels, and this is something that's becoming quite a trend in China.
The MX5 will be in select company in this respect - with the ZTE Nubia Z9, Oppo R7 Plus, and perhaps also the Vivo X5Pro.
Past mumblings mentioned that the Meizu MX5 would be powered by MediaTek's MT6795 SoC, which boasts an octa-core CPU that can be clocked at up to 2.2 GHz.
With regard to these renders, you shouldn't forget that they're still unconfirmed (even by other leaks), so it's entirely possible that they're not in fact showing us the next Meizu device. As we get closer to its unveiling date, things will surely get more clear.
