The Samsung Galaxy A5 is the bigger of the two A series smartphones that were announced in October. So far it's made its debut in China, and today it arrived in Europe - though only in Russia for the moment.
Over there it's already up for grabs, the price being RUB 23,990 - around $440 or 354 at the current exchange rates. In China it was $420, so Samsung is keeping the pricing consistent here.
The smaller Galaxy A3 has been listed by one Russian carrier in four colors, but all of them are out of stock. Still, this gives us a glimpse of this handset's price, which is RUB 16,990 ($312, 251). Since it already has its own pages up at that carrier, we expect it to become available pretty soon too. In the meantime, you can buy the A5 from a variety of Russian online retailers.
Samsung apparently hasn't felt that the signal issues we reported on last month warranted a launch delay for these smartphones.
Elsewhere in Europe, the two devices are expected early next year.
