Lava announces Kitkat-powered Iris X1 mid-ranger

Lava has announced its new mid-range offering dubbed Iris X1. The latest smartphone from the Indian manufacturer comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and a super attractive price tag to make up for the generally underwhelming hardware.







The Lava Iris X1 sports a 4.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The device is powered by a Broadcom chipset with 1.2GHz quad-core CPU and 1 GB of RAM. The Iris X1 also comes with 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 2 megapixel front facing shooter and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded by up to 32 GB via a microSD card.




Connectivity options for the Lava Iris X1 include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and 3G support. The dual-SIM smartphone measures 134 x 66 x 8.9mm and weighs about 138 grams. Lastly, there is 1,800mAh battery providing the juice for the device.




Lava Iris X1 will be up for grabs in black and white color options. The smartphone is priced at INR7,999 (about $136) and will be available exclusively on Amazon India website from May 27.
