The LTE-enabled smartphone runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat out-of-the-box and supports single SIM (GSM) functionality. The ZTE Star 1 is powered by a 1.6GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor with 1GB of RAM. It features a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920) IPS display.
The ZTE Star 1 sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and BIS (back-illuminated sensor). It comes with a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The smartphone comes in 16GB and 32GB inbuilt storage variants, with no word on expandable storage. The Star 1 smartphone packs a 2300mAh battery and will be available in three colour variants black, pink, and white.
Apart from LTE network support, connectivity options on the ZTE Star 1 include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/ AGPS and 3G.
Earlier, ZTE announced the Grand S II smartphone, which was first unveiled at CES this year. The ZTE Grand S II comes with a 5.5-inch full-HD display and runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. The smartphone is powered by a quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 chipset alongside 2GB of RAM. There is a 13-megapixel rear camera, while the front houses a 2-megapixel camera. The ZTE Grand S II comes with 16GB inbuilt storage and packs a 3000mAh battery.
The phone also in an 'exclusive' ZTE Grand S II variant, which features 3GB of RAM and comes with 32GB inbuilt storage, while also sporting a leather case. Rest of the specifications of the exclusive version remains identical to the Grand S II.
