Will the Moto G work in India? - Firstpost

After a hiatus of nearly two years, Motorola has made a comeback to the Indian market with the launch of the Moto G. The company launched the phone in New Delhi and the mid-ranger is priced at Rs 12,499 onwards. That's the price for the 8GB version of the phone, while the 16GB model will retail for Rs 13,999. Flipkart, which was involved in the pre-launch promotion, will have exclusive rights to sell the phone online in India, although it does appear that it is available at other retailers .

As one of the most well-received mid-range phones of the 2013, the Moto G arrives with high pressure to prove itself in a market, some would say, is perfectly suited for its strengths. The price is exactly what we expected, and it is quite a bargain when looking at the specs.

It sports a 4.5-inch HD 'edge-to-edge' display with a resolution of 1280×720 pixels, amounting to a pixel density of 329ppi, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The handset runs Android 4.3 for now, though the company has "guaranteed" that the smartphone will be getting Android 4.4 KitKat soon. Under the hood, the device comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (Cortex-A7) processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with an Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB of RAM.

For photography, there's a 5-megapixel rear camera with LED flash as well as a 1.3-megapixel front shooter. The rear camera comes with HD (720P) video recording support. The handset sports a water-resistant nanocoating on the inside and outside.

Rounding up the package is a 2070mAh battery, which the company claims will give 30 percent more talk time than Apple's current flagship, the iPhone 5s. FM radio support is packed in and the curved back panel is removable. The company is also offering 65GB of free Google Drive storage.
