The association between e-commerce site Flipkart and Motorola has been massively successful. There has been tremendous response from online shoppers to the launch of Moto G in Flipkart with the 16GB version being sold out in first 15 minutes.
"Moto G's 16 GB version, priced at Rs 13,999, was sold out in the first 15 minutes of the launch and few units of the 8 GB version - costing Rs 12,499 - were left," said Flipkart.
Flipkart's traffic also jumped two times. Of this, 67 per cent was seen driven by Moto G. The e-commerce site's page views increased by 100 per cent during Moto G launch. In fact, the Moto G page in Flipkart on February 9 saw 1 million page views. Inbound calls to Flipkart customer support number also doubled on the same day and the site had close to 20,000 queries on Moto G alone during the day.
The US-based Motorola had launched its much-awaited budget phone Moto G in India through Flipkart on February 6. The mobile sales on that day was five times the usual daily mobile sales because of the launch.
"We are seeing numbers that have been unheard of in Indian e-commerce. And we firmly believe that nobody but Flipkart.com could have pulled off numbers at this scale in Indian e-commerce," said the company.
