Well folks, the day has come. Mobile World Congress still hasn't started but that doesn't stop gsminfo.nl from spilling the beans on the LG G2 mini.
Unfortunately though, this (by today's standards) petite smartphone isn't on par with Sony's Xperia Z1 Compact. Instead of boasting Snapdragon 800, LG opted for a more modest Snapdragon 400. Moreover, the screen has qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution a la Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, and there's also a worse (than the regular G2) camera with 8-megapixel sensor on the back. Plus, let's not forget 8GB of expandable storage (with microSD cards) and removable 2,440mAh battery.
The Korean company will offer the G2 mini in LTE and non-LTE, as well as single- and dual-SIM variants. First markets to get it (in March) include Russia and CIS countries, followed by the Middle East, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. Yup, with the G2 mini LG is targeting a whole different market than with the "regular" G2.
