Law360, New York (February 27, 2014, 1:12 PM ET) -- A top-ranking executive at Google Inc. doused long-simmering rumors that his company had offered $10 billion for WhatsApp, the mobile-messaging service that Facebook Inc. recently bought for $19 billion, saying Thursday that the company had never made such an approach. Speaking at a conference in Spain, Sundar Pichai said California-based Google had discussed potential partnership opportunities with WhatsApp but had never moved toward an acquisition.
