Google today celebrated India's 65th Republic Day by posting a doodle featuring the armed forces. The doodle features Border Security Force (BSF) daredevils in saffron, white and green, performing a balancing act.
The second O in the Google is in orange and appears as a prop in the stunt. The other letters of the word Google are written in green, the colour of the lower band of the Indian National Flag.
Unlike many of Google's previous doodles, today's doodle does not have any animation. It is, however, clickable and takes you to information and search results about the Republic Day.
This is the fourth Republic Day doodle to feature on Google India's home page.
In 2013, India's national animal, the tiger, featured on Google India's home page and the symbol of the Republic, India Gate, had decorated the bottom left corner of Google's Republic Day India doodle. The Google logo had appeared as stripes on the tiger's body.
The Google doodle in 2012 commemorated India's 63rd Republic by featuring National Bravery Award winning children riding on the backs of decorated elephants, quite like the actual parade on Rajpath, New Delhi. The Google logo had appeared in rangoli-style in the background.
In 2010, the India Republic Day Google doodle had depicted Republic Day action in the air with fighter aircraft decorating the sky with the tricolour.
