Facebook buys Indian start-up Little Eye Labs - Telegraph.co.uk

Facebook is buying Little Eye Labs, an Indian start-up that builds mobile app analysis tools.

Android developers and testers use Little Eye Labs to measure, analyse and optimise the performance of their apps. The company said that the deal will allow it to leverage Facebook's 'world-class infrastructure' to help improve performance of the social network's apps.

"For us, this is an opportunity to make an impact on the more than 1 billion people who use Facebook," said the Little Eye Labs team in a blog post.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but reports suggest the price was between $10 million to $15 million. The entire Little Eye Labs team will move to Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California.

The acquisition marks the social networking giant's first deal in India. It is thought that the deal could boost interest in India's start-up ecosystem, where high-profile acquisitions are rare.

The company also said that current customers of Little Eye for Android will receive further information on plans to offer a free version of Little Eye until June 30, 2014.
