What to expect from the LG G-Flex - AOL

LG G-FlexFollowed by a major hype, the South Korean Manufacturer LG Electronics has finally showcased its bragging curved smartphone, LG G-Flex in New Delhi, India. From what the company claims, the curved smartphone is set to hit the Indian markets by February 2014. While its release is a few months away, the launch of G-Flex has made it irresistible for many.

Here are a few things to expect from LG G-Flex:

Unique Design and Handling - While its USP is its horizontal curved display, one could expect a host of other unique features from the G-Flex. Its 6 inch display with curved angle should practically give a much better viewing experience than any other normal flat smartphone. Apart from the viewing experience its altogether handling would also be different and novel. At the launch the company claimed that the smartphone could 'Flex until it is totally flat' and this could be achieved numerous times even with heavy weight put upon it.

Enhanced Durability- While LG has definitely offered something unique to the markets, what one could expect from this brand along with novelty is durability. The LG G-Flex, as the company claims could flex with around 40 kilograms of weight put upon it without damaging the screen! To top it all, its hyped self-healing feature also makes its rear panel scratch healing to an extent. This makes it a durable and a long-lasting phone on a daily basis.

Amazing Specs and features – The G-Flex operates on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a quad-core 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with an Adreno 330 GPU, and 2GB of RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage (non-expandable). Its processing speed and hardware make it a tough competitor for Samsung's Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Ericson Z Ultra. The curved smartphone sports a 13-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and comes with a 3,500mAh battery. Hopefully LG might consider running the G-Flex on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat update considering its G2 is receiving such treatment. The G-Flex's inter-face would be very much similar to that of LG G2 and would come packaged with other features too like the KnockON (LG's version of double tap to unlock and even lock the smartphone), Slide Aside (a way to multitask by moving between three apps at once via a three-finger swipe gesture), Guest mode, Dual Window, (divides the screen into two panels for multitasking) and QuickTheatre (takes you directly to gallery, videos and media options).

Premium Price- While the LG G-Flex comes packed with a whole bunch of novel, exciting and amazing specs and features, one must expect a hefty sum for owning this device. As per rumors, G-Flex coul hit the markets at a price range of Rs 60000-Rs 65000 giving its rivals like Apple iPhone 5S, HTC One Max, Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Sony Z Ultra tough competition.

As the world was discovered to be curved by Pythagoras back in the sixth century BC, LG has too successfully discovered smartphones to be curved today!
