Samsung Could Be Looking To Bring Android 4.4 KitKat To Older Devices - Ubergizmo

While the Android 4.4 KitKat update has been designed to support older and lower specced devices, such as those running with 512MB of RAM, it's odd that Google has decided to not support devices like the Galaxy Nexus, and surprisingly Samsung has decided to try and support older and lower-end devices, like the Galaxy S4 mini, Galaxy S3 mini, Galaxy S Advance, Galaxy Ace 3, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Fame, Galaxy Ace 2, and the Galaxy Fresh. Of course this is by no means a guarantee that they will get the update, but at least Samsung is looking into providing support for it, so we'll keep our eyes peeled for more info.

It wasn't too long ago that a memo leaked which showed that higher-end devices like the Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3, and the Galaxy Note 2 would receive the Android 4.4 KitKat update. In any case no word when the update will roll out for the mid-ranged devices, if Samsung decides to support it, but we suppose it's still good news nonetheless, although we might suggest against getting your hopes up just yet.
