Sony has come a long way since the days of Xperia S. There was a time when the Xperia Z maker had practically no vision in respect to its mobile phone business. The smart phone business was scattered; and, thus, the brand was finding a way to answer its contemporaries.
Sony had little time to prove its worth as a distinct handset manufacturer. From the beginning we consumers have shown faith in Sony's distinct sense of style and effortless design mastery. Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai is the man of the moment. His "One Sony "strategy is yet to show its fruitful side, but the signal is clear, simple and sometimes overheard. Sony is back into the game; and, the Xperia Z1 is just the beginning.
The Xperia Z1 is a super delicious phone; and quite honestly, Sony can compete with its contemporaries, the respected Samsung, LGs and Apple. Like every Xperia-branded phone, the Xperia Z1 comes with ergonomic design. Sony has put in efforts to make the handset, the most compelling device ever launched by the same brand, which took the world by storm in the late 1980s. Its 5-inch Full HD display is vastly improved over its predecessor, the Xperia Z.
This waterproof-handset is unapologetically awesome, but GizBot has found some loop holes that could harm Sony's firm belief in its hardware capability. The celebrated 20.7MP rear-facing camera could have been better. Whether it's a hardware malfunction or a software issue, Sony must look into this matter as soon as possible. In fact, the original Xperia Z has better rear-facing camera in comparison to the Xperia Z1.
The Xperia Z1 is priced roughly at Rs. 43,990 in the Indian market. The handset is priced way below the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Nokia Lumia 1020. No doubt the Sony Xperia Z1 is a premium device, but are consumers ready to give Sony another choice, after the stellar performance shown by the Xperia Z, here in India.
Ultimately, it's in the hands of consumers whether they want to give thumps up to the Xperia Z1 or not.
