The Google Nexus 5 smartphone made by LG will be launched in India reliably on Tuesday and retailers have reported receiving shipments for a grand release. It will be launched in major cities — New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Kolkata initially.
A tweet by a Mumbai-based retailer said LG-made Nexus 5 smartphone shipments will reach them by Monday and expectations are that the device will be launched officially on Tuesday.
Online retailer Snapdeal has started taking pre-orders for Nexus 5 in India for Rs 999, while the rest of the amount need to be paid at the time of delivery.
LG will release the 16GB version priced Rs.29,990 and other online retailers like Flipkart. Google Play and Saholic will start booking once the launch is made officially.
The new Nexus 5 has a 4.595-inch full HD (1080x1920p) display, with a pixel density of 445 ppi and runs on the new Android v4.4 KitKat OS.
It is powered by 2.3GH Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 series quad-core CPU, with 450 MHz Adreno 330 graphics engine, 2GB RAM and 16GB/32GB storage.
It sports a 8.0-megapixel camera with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) and HDR +, photo sphere with 360-degree view. The front camera will have 1.3 MP. It battery capacity is 2,300mAh and the talk time is 17 hours and on standby mode, the manufacturer claims 300 hours.
With network compatibility of 3G and 4G/LTE, the model comes with adds-ons like 2.3GHz Wireless Dual-band Wi-Fi (2.5G/5G) , Bluetooth v4.0, NFC, micro-USB, SlimPort enabled, dual-microphones Ceramic power and volume buttons, 3.5 mm stereo audio jack, built-in wireless charging.
Available in 137.84 x 69.7 x 8.59 mm dimension, the Nexus 5 weighs 130 grams.
