Facebook had a serious case of the Mondays.
The social networking Web site went down for some this morning, with people unable to post a status update or even access the site.
Facebook has confirmed to CNET via a statement that there were issues that popped up during network maintenance.
Here's the full statement:
Earlier this morning, while performing some network maintenance, we experienced an issue that prevented some users from posting to Facebook for a brief period of time. We resolved the issue quickly, and we are now back to 100%. We're sorry for any inconvenience we may have caused.
The site appeared at least partially broken, fueling chatter on Twitter. And when the site was accessible, users complained that they were unable to post a status update.
Updated at 8:11 a.m. and 8:57 a.m. PT: to note the issues have been fixed and to post a statement from Facebook.
