Nokia on Tuesday teased an Oct. 22 event that will likely include the launch of a larger-screen Lumia smartphone. "At Nokia, we never stop innovating. More to share on October 22," the Finnish handset maker tweeted this morning. The message was accompanied by a photo of people skiing on sand dunes next to the hashtags #blazing, #stories, and #innovationreinvented. Details about time and location were not revealed, but the company urged followers to save the date. In the past, Nokia has live-streamed events on its Conversations blog, so you might be able to tune into the Oct. 22 event as well. But what should we expect from Nokia? All signs point to the company embracing the phablet with a 6-inch device known as the Lumia 1520. According to Reuters, Nokia had originally planned to unveil the device at a New York event in September. But Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's handset business required the company to delay that launch by several weeks. Nokia only just released its 41-megapixel Lumia 1020 smartphone in July. The Lumia 1020 sports a 4.5-inch, 1,280-by-768-pixel Gorilla Glass 3 AMOLED screen, but in the age of phablets, that's a bit small in comparison. That space is heating up, from Samsung's just-announced 5.7-inch Galaxy Note 3 and 6.3-inch Galaxy Mega to Sony's 6.4-inch Xperia Z Ultra. Stay tuned for all the details on Oct. 22.
