Lollipop public beta test for Huawei Honor 6 begins

Tags: Huawei, Android, Firmware update

Huawei has really been caught up in the update frenzy lately. Yesterday, we saw the manufacturer inviting Huawei Ascend P7 users to participate in a public beta of their new software and today, that invitation has been extended to Honor 6 users as well.

This is only logical, seeing how the Honor 6 is roughly the same age as the Ascend P7 and even has slightly better hardware. The beta in question is also based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and has EMUI 3.1 to go along with it. A while ago, we reviewed the Huawei P8, which gave us a first glimpse at Huawei's new and highly-customized Emotion UI shell.

To participate in the said beta you have to:

Make sure to send us an email with the subject "Beta Test Honor 6", your IMEI number and a short statement why you are the appropriate person for the test to myhonor@hihonor.com. The first 100 applications that convinced us most will be notified by us next week. The application phase will be closed on 30.06 – so hurry up and sign in today!

For the rest of the Honor 6 community, the update should roll out this summer.
