Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ with Cyanogen OS got cancelled

Tags: Alcatel, Android

Remember the Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ that debuted during MWC in Barcelona with Cyanogen OS on board? The Chinese manufacturer and the maker of popular custom ROMs just cancelled the phablet before it made it to the market.

In a short statement, Alcatel OneTouch and Cyanogen blamed the lack of a “clear Android 5.1 upgrade path” as the reason for the product’s scrapping. The two companies announced that they are still committed to launching an Alcatel OneTouch device with Cyanogen OS on board. However, they didn’t share details about their future plans.

Alcatel OneTouch Hero 2+ was a variant of last year’s Hero 2 that was set to debut in the United States with a $299 price tag. Its specs included a MediaTek MT6592 chipset, 2GB of RAM, 13MP main camera, and 6” 1080p display.
