Motorola details which of its devices will get Lollipop

Tags: Android , Motorola , Firmware updates

The Nexus 6 will be Motorola's first product to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop preinstalled, but what about the smartphone maker's previous wares?

Fret not, for Motorola plans on updating quite a few handsets to the latest version of Android. And while it hasn't provided any indication as to when we should expect the updates to start rolling out, the company did tell us which of its devices will get to taste Android 5.0.

So, without further ado, here's the list: Moto X (first and second generation), Moto G (first and second generation), Moto G with 4G LTE, Moto E, Droid Ultra, Droid Maxx, and Droid Mini.

While everyone was expecting the Moto X to receive Lollipop, it's very nice to see a low-end phone such as the Moto E on track to run the absolute latest version of Google's mobile operating system.

Last year Motorola shocked the tech world by issuing some incredibly fast updates to Android 4.4 KitKat for a few of its smartphones, so hopefully this year the wait won't be long either.
