The Miami-based smartphone manufacturer Blu Products took the wraps off a quartet of affordable Studio smartphones. Blu Studio 5.0 C HD, Studio C Mini, Studio 5.0 C, and Studio 5.0 CE all feature MediaTek silicon and Android 4.4 KitKat. Most importantly, all four handsets are priced at $149 and below.
The Blu Studio 5.0 C HD you see in the image above is the most capable device from the bunch. It features a MediaTek MT 6582 SoC with 1.3GHz quad-core CPU, Mali 400 GPU, 5 720p IPS display, a gig of RAM, 4GB of expandable memory (via microSD card slot), and 2,000mAh battery.
An 8MP main camera, 2MP front-facing snapper, and a connectivity suite that includes HSPA+ and FM radio complete the highlights of the handsets spec sheet. Blu Studio 5.0 C HD is already available on Amazon for $149 with no contract.
Blu Studio C Mini on the other hand, packs the same chipset and GPU as the Studio 5.0 C HD, but comes with a smaller, 4.7 display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The handset also makes do with 512MB of RAM on board.
The Studio C Mini packs the same battery and connectivity suite as the Studio C HD. It is priced at $119 on Amazon.
For $109, the BLU Studio 5.0 C offers MediaTek MT 6572 SoC with 1.3GHz dual-core CPU, Mali 400 GPU, 5 854 x 480 display, 1,800 mAh battery, and 5MP main camera. The handset offers 4GB of RAM, microSD card slot, and HSPA+ connectivity.
BLU Studio 5.0 CE has the same specs as the Studio 5.0 CE, but does away with the HSPA+ connectivity. It costs $89 with no contract.
