Sony has officially launched its 6-inch phablet dubbed the Xperia T2 Ultra in India. The company has especially designed the dual SIM variant of the device for the Indian market that is called Xperia T2 Ultra dual, priced at Rs 25,990. The handset will be available from March 20 via all Sony Centers, Xperia Flagship stores and major electronic stores across India. As reported last month , the device is still listed on Saholic for Rs 32,499 and the online retailer promises to deliver it by March 26.

The Xperia T2 Ultra is the company's large 6-inch phablet and has been touted as a successor to the Xperia T. In terms of key differences, expect relatively better picture quality as compared to its predecessor.

The device has a sleek profile of 7.6mm, despite the huge display. It has a 13MP rear camera and a 1.1MP front-facing camera. Its 8GB onboard storage can be expanded by up to 32GB via microSD card slot. All of this will be fuelled by a 3,000mAh battery.

Under the hood, it comes powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8928) processor. Connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth and DLNA.

Earlier reports claim that Sony planned to position the T2 Ultra as a budget device for emerging markets and wouldn't get Sony's entire app suite that is currently found on the Z1S. However, it does come with support for Background defocus, Sweep Panorama, Collage, Timeshift burst and the selfie-friendly, Portrait Retouch.

It comes with Sony's latest Album, Walkman and Movies apps that integrate out-of-the-box with cloud services to provide easy access to entertainment. For users in India, it means out-of-the-box integration with the Sony Entertainment Network as well as Sony's PlayMemories Online storage service.

The T2 Ultra Dual also offers one-touch functions that users can instantly and easily share music, photos and videos and movies from Xperia T2 Ultra with a wide range of NFC-enabled Sony devices, including speakers, SmartWatch, wireless headsets and TVs.
