Can car infotainment system from the tech giant Samsung win back some lost ground for Indian car manufacturer Tata Motors? The company that has seen its sales go down and down in the last few years has announced its collaboration with the biggest smartphone maker and one of the biggest consumer appliance leader Samsung.
There is no doubt that the carmaker that at one time had many takers in the Indian market and made headlines across the world for its cheapest car Nano, seems to have been beaten by international biggies. In the last more than a decade a large number of international players have entered the car market and have launched exciting cars with latest technologies, great designs and everything that a consumer can demand.
Hyundai, Toyota, Renault, Nissan, General Motors have introduced some great and very reasonably priced cars in the country in the last few years, taking the air out of several Indian car manufacturers like Tata Motors.
But now Tata Motors is trying to come out with some great new additions and spicing up things. During the ongoing Auto Expo 2014 Korean Tech giant Samsung and Tata Motors have made it clear that they are coming together to installing car infotainment system in new Tata cars.
The best thing about the deal is the fact that the company is going to make this infotainment system available on even mid-range and not so expensive cars too. Tata Motors Passengers Vehicles Unit President, Ranjit Yadav was quoted by PTI as saying that it will make its cars one of the best and even those who go for the volume segment cars can look forward to the advanced technology. This will certainly be a plus point. But it is not sure as to how much benefit it will bring in total fortunes of the company.
