Mozilla gives us an early glimpse of its Firefox launcher for Android - Firstpost

If you prefer third-party launchers over the one that shipped with your phone, you will soon have a new option from Mozilla. The open source organisation has given a glimpse of its Firefox Android homescreen launcher.

Mozilla has revealed a single screenshot of the launcher, and not much else is known at the moment. It looks very similar to the EverythingMe launcher, a project Mozilla had invested in in 2012. The app, originally called Everything.me has now been rebranded as EverythingMe. The launcher's key feature is that it integrates search into the launcher experience and will change the homescreens depending on location and time.

The launcher is designed to help users access apps that have already been downloaded in a quicker manner. So apps that users may like to check out in the morning and websites they use to catch the latest news will be displayed in the morning. In a blog post , Mozilla writes, "Firefox Launcher for Android makes it easy to discover the content you want in any moment and is optimized for the way you use your phone. The app integrates the contextual adaptive app search from EverythingMe with the Firefox for Android Web browser to offer users a personalized and customizable Web experience that is fun and intuitive."

EverythingMe also boasts a smart folders feature that automatically groups similar apps in your drawer. The launcher is still in pre-beta stage at the moment, so it may be a while before the Mozilla launcher comes to Android.
