Press image of the shelved Nokia Android smartphone spotted - The Droid Guy

Nokia Normandy It is well within the public domain that Nokia was eager to have an Android smartphone as a backup if Windows Phone failed to take off. Even though those plans have now been dropped, a new revelation has uncovered Nokia's plans to launch this smartphone codenamed "Normandy" in several colorful variants, much like the rest of its Lumia and Asha line of smartphones. Evleaks has accessed an alleged press image of this smartphone, which doesn't look a lot different from the current crop of Lumia devices to be honest.

This image however is indicative of Nokia's modern approach towards smartphones and the color schemes that usually go along with it, so it's good to have a peek at what might have been. With Nokia now pretty much in Microsoft's hands, we can rule out every possibility of a Nokia Android smartphone. However, the fact that Nokia was already considering Plan B, speaks about the hesitancy within the company to switch to Windows Phone from the now defunct Symbian operating system.
