HTC's next top-end smartphone could ship with a 5in Full HD display if a leaked list of specs is to be believed.
Habitual leaker @evleaks tweeted that the successor to the HTC One, known as the HTC M8 or One 2, will have a 5in Full HD display with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixel resolution and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor.
It will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with an earlier leak confirming that it will have HTC Sense 6.0 skinned over the top of the version of Google's OS.
The latest rumours fit with what has been leaked so far that pegged the screen as somewhere between 5in and 5.2in and including the Full HD resolution and same processor mentioned above.
Earlier this month a Taiwanese site reported that it will have 3GB of RAM and an extra hole on the back of the device's shell will feature a fingerprint scanner that works in a similar way to the one on the recently released HTC One Max.
In terms of a release date there was nothing further than the tweets earlier this month from the same @evleaks account that it will see the light of day at some point in the first quarter of 2014.
If this is the case then sources have speculated that it's highly likely HTC will choose to debut the device at CES 2014 in Las Vegas in January as opposed to the later Mobile World Congress 2014.
HTC has experienced something of a torrid time in recent months as it struggles to keep up with the likes of Apple, Samsung and Nokia in the ultra-competitive global smartphone market.
This meant it reported its first-ever quarterly loss at the start of October and led it to cut fourth quarter revenue projections to somewhere between T$40 billion [£849 million] and T$45 billion [£954 million] – a level that is significantly lower than the previous year and quarter.
