Zee Media Bureau New Delhi: Looks like BlackBerry Messenger instant chat application will have to wait a bit longer to make a debut on the Android platform. The company has officially put on hold the launch of its fabled BBM service on Google's Android OS. Reports suggest that a leaked version of the app for Android saw at least 1 million downloads in a day. Also, this leaked version of the Android app has not been disabled for now. The Canadian smartphone maker's official Twitter account read, "We know you're waiting. Pausing #BBM4All rollout to fix issues caused by unreleased BBM for Android app." However, Apple users got a taste of the BBM app as iOS App Store listed it for download even before the scheduled release time. The struggling Canadian smartphone maker had announced plans to open up the service, often referred to as BBM by both fans and the company, back in May. Once a unique tool to send short messages without running up SMS charges, BBM now competes with mobile instant messaging products from Facebook, Apple and others, and less directly with the micro-blogging service Twitter. Android users will be able to download the application once the application is checked for bugs and issues.
