Acer Iconia Tab 10 brings high-res screen on the cheap

Acer unveiled the follow-up to the Iconia Tab A3. The Acer Iconia 10 adds a 1,920 x 1,200px (WUXGA) option for the screen, updates the chipset and launches with Android 4.4 KitKat.

There are two versions of the new tablet. The $250 one comes with a 10.1" WUXGA screen, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of built-in storage and a MediaTek MT8217 chipset with a quad-core Cortex-A7 processor at 1.5GHz. The screen is laminated to the glass and has fingerprint-resistant coating.




The cheaper $200 tablet has a 1,280 x 800px screen, half the RAM and storage (1GB/16GB) and a downclocked processor (1.3GHz).




All models are Wi-Fi only and are available in Black and White. The tablets have 5,910mAh or 5,700mAh batteries (depending on the exact model), 2MP selfie cameras and Dolby audio tech.
